Farewells and Reunions

MY BOYS AT PLAY

It's been quite some time since I last posted on this blog. Anyway, some updates, Caramel and ChiChi's have shifted to their new owners' home and Cloud will leave our house for his new owner after the 24th of November. Am still in 'negotiation' with regards to Chloe, but I do hope that Chloe will get to go with Cole, so that she will not be lonely.

Puppies are huge now, Cole is easily 7/8 times Coco's size! It was amusing and amazing to realize how many people confused Cole for Coco. Well, it's not surprising, with his charcoal-black coat and drop ears, he's really a stronger, more compact Coco. Hahaha...

Anyway, I missed Caramel and ChiChi so much that I've been to see them (or even brought them back for a 'reunion' with their siblings almost once in three days. hahaha. As it is, I'm rather free now, so ferrying the two babies up and down between houses ain't a big problem. Caramel and ChiChi are also adapting pretty well as indoor dogs; with a cool marble floor to sleep on, and owners who play with them every now and then, I think they've got it good. :)

It was still heartening to see them back after about a week for their 1st 'reunion', and I believe the pups all felt it, as well as Coral and Coco. Upon observation, Caramel seems rather attached to Chloe, always licking her fur and 'protecting' her from being 'tag-team-attacked' by Cole, Cloud and whoever chooses to join in. Interesting to watch their interactions because I somehow feel it gives an insight into their natural 'preference' for each other.

That's not to say that Caramel and ChiChi aren't getting along too well; they usually end up as a pair, playing together whilst the rest of them go off in search of more 'interesting' pursuits that our garden has to offer. Must say, the pups are really quite a handful now, digging, chewing and gnawing on almost EVERYTHING that could fit in between their jaws.

Not surprisingly, Caramel's not as obedient as before he left (ChiChi's somehow the same, though now she knows her name pretty well). But he's still a ton of love and now always cocks his head to one side when you call his name and he looks at you. And THAT, is CUTE.

A look at how much they've changed...

ONE MONTH AGO...

It's the puppies 2nd month celebration today, and I'm looking through all their videos and marvelling at how much they've changed within a mere span of 30 days. Size, body proportions, facial features and shape and even their personalities!

Cloud, who used to be rather solitary and very much a loner/not much of an attention-seeker is now an uber-people-friendly dog whom my dad affectionately termed as "one-without-much-of-a-character". This is largely because Cloud follows whoever calls out to him, irregardless of whatever name is being called. He still, however, is the most adventurous and definitely the leanest of the boys now.

Chichi has really blossomed into a little beauty with her sunken eyes and rather bashful smile. At one month, she was rather awkward and weirdly proportioned as her black fur tended to cover her best features - her eyes. Now, with the face shape widened, Chichi's beautiful eyes would follow you attentively in the hope that you would offer her a little something... exciting. At one month, Chichi was much of a leader, but now, she climbs the WHOLE LENGTH of the wire mesh (1m height!) to make her escape at night!

Chloe's really something special. She hasn't grown much in size; comparatively, but she's starting to develop a real personality of her own. She often wanders off in search of her own 'grounds' but would fiercely attack any of the other pups when she spies them in possession of anything she fancies. One thing I'm glad of is that Chloe hasn't lost the attachment she has towards my ankles... she still nuzzles against them whenever I present her the opportunity.

Caramel, Caramel, Caramel. He's... something to look at. :)

Cole's still the biggest, and the biggest cry-baby though his fur is absolutely magnificent. As for my dearest, most beloved Cookie, well, she's grown into an affectionate little pup who's more of a follower but will give her all in any game that she engages in. I'm happy to also add that now she's feeding properly and has grown into an admirable size, evenly matching that of Chloe and Chichi. :>)

Video 27th October 2008

Just one of those many many videos that we took of the puppies play-fighting.

This one's of Cole and Chloe. Enjoy. :)

COLE COUGAR

ONE DAY OLD

Clearly distinguishable being the largest of the litter, Cole is the eldest of them all. His shiny black fur are a clear indication of maternal genes.
ONE WEEK OLD
However you look at him, he was most adorable and... greedy. Always looking to feed. Had the strongest lungs too... his cry could be heard miles away!
TWO WEEKS OLD

A startling contrast when compared to his younger brother, Cloud.

THREE WEEKS OLD

An aggressive and attention-seeking pup, never doubting his status as the leader of his siblings.

FOUR WEEKS OLD
Unfortunately, there were no shots of Cole when he was four weeks old... :(

FIVE WEEKS OLD

A refreshed Cole awaiting food...

SIX WEEKS OLD

Black as night, Cole can only be found when he smiles (and shows his tongue)!

SEVEN WEEKS OLD

A handsome and obedient pup who craves human company, though not as adventurous as Cloud, Cole is still the largest of the pack and has his mum's beautiful and shiny coat of fur.

CHICHI
ONE DAY OLD
Born in the morning of 8th Sept, imagine our surprise when we saw an unfamiliar little red nose peek out from underneath Coco's belly!
ONE WEEK OLD
Small compared to her siblings but easily distinguishable with her red nose.

TWO WEEKS OLD

The pink patches have now turned white, as a reminder of her paternal heritage.
THREE WEEKS OLD
"Hello," says a bashful girl.

FOUR WEEKS OLD

Large, liquid eyes looks adoringly at you.

FIVE WEEKS OLD

A relatively bashful pup, who tends to follow her siblings' lead.

SIX WEEKS OLD

Still a shy beauty

SEVEN WEEKS OLD

ChiChi, my princess.

CARAMEL

ONE DAY OLD
He was the most distinctive of all the brown as his brown hairs were a smooth creamy golden, like Caramel. :)
ONE WEEK OLD
Lying in Gladys' lap, the little boy finds warmth.
TWO WEEKS OLD
Mischief lurks behind those half-opened eyes...
THREE WEEKS OLD
Look at me! I'm walking!!
FOUR WEEKS OLD
Already the cam-whore...
FIVE WEEKS OLD
Nap after bath... That's my life.
SIX WEEKS OLD
Face shape is obviously rounder and he's growing to look more and more like a stuff toy!
SEVEN WEEKS OLD!
Ugmmmphh! My Ball!

CLOUD

ONE DAY OLD (just born)

Hardly more than a mouse...

ONE WEEK OLD.

There. My first and ONLY beautiful shot of him that time. Still remembered... we were so worried that his mother, Coco, will leave him out of the feeding or her 'random' shows of affection. Hahah... come to think of it, I shouldn't have worried. :)

TWO WEEKS OLD.

Sleeping with Cole, who was a good cm longer than our Cloud.

THREE WEEKS OLD

Old enough to walk and play.

FOUR WEEKS OLD

This was actually taken only 3 days after the previous picture and yet... the change is visible. He's leaner now and his face is longer compared to the rest of the babies.

FIVE WEEKS OLD

A folorn looking Cloud after a cold bath! hahaha...

SIX WEEKS OLD!

Face shape has changed even more; become more pointy but still all adorable. :)

SEVEN WEEKS OLD!!

Here's my Cloud; the Christopher Columbus who never tires when seeking 'new' grounds. SIGH SIGH SIGH!

Cole, Caramel and Cloud at Pasir Ris Park

Brought my three little boys to Pasir Ris Park for a run last Saturday. Truly, it was getting diffcult keeping up with them! As usual, the pups were a hit with young and old alike.
Unfortunately, the boys must have ingested something in the park which caused them to have the runs since yesterday... Ugh. But as they looked healthy and playful still I didn't bring them to the vet.

Below are some of the pictures taken while the boys were playing:

Here sits Caramel...
in an absolutely adorable pic of him playing with the towel.
While watching Caramel play, I've come to realize that Caramel was a people-friendly dog, perhaps it's largely because he tends to lose to his siblings when engaging in their 'play-fights'. It has become quite a standing joke amongst my family members about how Caramel can even lose to his smaller-sized sisters.
This, we've largely attributed to
1) He's easily distracted - always looking for new playmates and therefore is easily caught unawares by his attacker from behind and
2) He's so FLUFFY! He really tends to topple with the slightest push! hahahahah...

Anyway, because of this, Caramel likes attention from humans. Wave at him, drum your fingers and watch him come galloping towards you! And THAT's really an adorable sight!

Above shows Cole and Cloud engaging in their usual play-fights. Hahaha... Cole usually overpowers with sheer body mass, so unless he's caught unawares, he rarely loses. Cloud, on the other hand, is a fighter and ALWAYS manages to emerge winner because of his lean and supple limbs! After all, Cloud's the only one (currently) who manages to climb out of their play pen!
After observing the dogs that day, it was clear that Cloud's the most adventurous and inquisitive. Cole, despite being the eldest and the largest in size is easily intimidated by new experiences and relies on Cloud for leadership... surprisingly. Caramel, well, he's just a big ball of fluff. :)
